<~~~ Just love your Pug like there’s no tomorrow! We have two and we watch their eyes and listen to them all the time. If there’s any hint of anything "different", we run them to the vet! That’s all you can do. If you’re real concerned, talk to your vet about your little Pug’s eyes and have your vet check out his nostrils … your vet should have checked him over when you got him and given him a clean bill of health for the breeder.
We love our Pugs and were full aware of health problems they could get before we got them. That’s why we watch them closely. We got our male in February 2007 and our little female in June 2007. We’e had them neutered and spayed and keep a close eye on both.
We have two Pugs. A male and a little female – neutered and spayed. We researched the Pug … I liked the way they looked and the things that were written about their temperament. We are so glad we decided on Pugs.
They are so fun to be around. Bred to be lap dogs, they are definitely true to their nature. They love to play play play and are natural born comedians. They know no stranger and are great with children. They are happiest with a house full of people and love to entertain. They live for your attention and are very affectionate and lovable. They love to go anywhere and everywhere … doesn’t matter where – whether it’s to the post office and back or to another city. They love to go on walks whether it’s all over the neighborhood or down to the corner and back. They love to greet everyone and are happy to see anyone. People always get a great big smile when they see our Pugs and can’t help but pet them. They shed like it’s going out of style but we love them to death and wouldn’t change a thing. We couldn’t imagine starting a day without them!!!
Here’s a couple of links to read more about the specifics of their temperament and health problems and some clips of our Pugs on YouTube

I had apug that had bad problems withasthma. I had to keep an inhaler around at all times incase he had an attack. Summers were worse that other seasons. He was ok with the eyes.

i got told this too about my mini foxy, she’s so tiny, my vet told me that because she has small organs that i would have problems, but she’s been fine, she’s 8yrs old now and hasnt had a problem yet! as long as you take care of him correctly you shouldnt have too many problems. good luck.

I have a 2 year old pug and I was told the same thing. She doesnt seem to have any serious respiratory problems unless you call snoring one
. The only eye problem she has is that they look in opposite directions. hehe I love her.
